The Three Groups
Coffee blends carry espresso and taste of it. The Coffee Frappuccino at £5.60 is the cheapest and the lightest of all 11, which makes it the sensible default rather than the boring one.
Cream blends carry no coffee. The chocolate, cookies and cream, and strawberries and cream versions all sit at 0mg of caffeine, which makes them the standard order for a child. The matcha cream version is the exception at 74.2mg, because matcha is a tea rather than a flavouring, and the similar name catches people out.
Clouds are the newest and dearest at £6.90. A layer of whipped cold foam sits over the blend rather than through it, giving a meringue textured top third over a conventional Frappuccino underneath.
The Heavy End
The Caramel Mocha Cloud at 418 calories is the heaviest, and the Cookies and Cream at 387 is the heaviest of the standard blends, carrying 14.1g of saturated fat.
Two changes cut a Frappuccino meaningfully and both are free. No whipped cream is worth around 80 calories on a Grande, and halving the syrup pumps from four to two takes a real share of the sugar without touching anything else.
A Tall rather than a Grande is the third lever, and on the cream blends it lands a drink near 250 calories rather than 350.
Ordering One That Survives
A Frappuccino separates faster than anything else on the menu. The ice parts from the milk within about ten minutes, so one carried twenty minutes home is a different product from the one handed over at the bar.
That makes it the worst thing on the menu to order for delivery, where the average markup is 17.7 percent for a drink that will not survive the journey.
Which Frappuccino Is the Best Order?
On value, the Coffee Frappuccino: cheapest at £5.60, lightest at 299 calories, and the only one that tastes of coffee rather than of syrup.
For a child, the Chocolate Cream at 0mg of caffeine, ordered as a Tall without whipped cream, which lands near 180 calories. Avoid the matcha cream version, which carries 53.7mg even in a Tall.
